“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;” 2 Timothy 2:24-25
Imagine if we all practiced this everyday. Imagine if every idle word was gentle… if people were kind to others…I guess what this really means…now listen closely…we CANNOT all be servants. A servant is gentle to all men…they are patient…and they have the ability to teach…not necessarily in the classroom…but by their daily testimony. If you go around *stabbing people in the back…stirring up hate and vengeance…and you call yourself Christian…well they have a word for you…it’s called HYPOCRITE!!!
Now…here is the buffer. I don’t want to use the ol’ “nobody’s perfect” cop out here…but we have all made mistakes. The difference is LIFESTYLE. If you have said an unkind word…*stabbed your brother in the back…then their is forgiveness for you. But if you make it your lifestyle to practice these things…then that is another thing entirely.
If you have been unkind or *stabbed your brother int he back…seek forgiveness both from your victim and from the Father. You will feel as if a ton of bricks have been lifted from your shoulders. God Bless You.
*to do something harmful to someone who trusted you “He had lied to, stabbed in the back, by people he thought were his friends”
